Find out more about Clip 2

Wi-fi: You can use Wi-Fi to upload the content captured by Clip 2 to the Narrative App.

To use Wi-Fi you need to connect the Clip to a power source. You can plug into any outlet near a Wi-Fi zone. Wi-Fi needs power since you can't move 8GB of data through the air on such a small battery.

The beauty of Wi-Fi connectivity is that you do not need a standard computer near you.

Bluetooth: Enables a convenient remote control of your Clip 2 and enables use of Wi-Fi.

Buttons: No buttons. (Double-tap the Narrative Clip itself for battery indication and to take an extra photo. Place face down on a flat surface, or in total darkness, to put it into sleep mode.)

LEDs: 4 lights to indicate battery, memory status, etc.

The Narrative Clip 2 is weatherproof.

With Clip 2 there is the option of swapping out the Metal Clip for other mounts. Please note that only the first shipment of pre-orders will contain the mounts
:

  1. The Metal Clip Mount: classic Narrative metallic clip that’s great for thin jackets, shirts and sweaters.
  2. The Crocodile Mount: a plastic clothes peg like mount that allows you to wear the Clip with thicker materials like winter jackets or hard physical objects, such as your computer.
  3. The Lanyard Mount: a plastic mount made for lanyards and necklaces, custom designed to be worn with lighter clothes or to be hung on your coat rack.

We have added these mounts to make it easier to capture moments using Clip 2!

Hello, I am looking forward to the release of Narrative Clip 2 :)
Can you please tell me if we can download the photos into our computers rather than upload them to the cloud?
    Thanks

    Hi Rami,
It is indeed possible to download and save the photos to your computer instead of the cloud storage. You will have both of the options and you can also choose to save to both local storage and to the cloud storage! Have a great day!

I will not buy this device if it requires me to have an online connection to the internet in order to download the pictures. I want this device to download my pictures to my secure/private PC. I noticed when I use the Narrative 1, it seems to require an internet connection even thou I specifically disabled the upload to cloud option. This device should not require an open internet connection to download to a PC hard drive. Will Narrative 2, require an internet connection before it will download photos to a personal computer?

When downloading the photos to my computer, will I have the same resolution, get the gps info, photo orientation and exif data as when the pics are stored to the cloud?
    Thanks for your help, Oliver

    HI there,
Thanks a lot for your messages. You can use Narrative Clip and only choose the option to download the photos to your Local Storage. But, there are however some advantages storing the photos on the Cloud . Just about to pre order the Narrative Clip 2 however would like to understand how the new clip will behave under specific scenarios. Specifically, if I went on holiday with my clip for two weeks, would I have to take a laptop with me to a) recharge the clip and b) free up the 8GB memory, both I guess I would need to do every couple of days?

    Hi Anthony,
Apologies for the late reply. With the Clip 2, you will not have to bring your laptop while traveling. The only thing you need is a cable and Wi-Fi connection from time to time to be able to upload the photos to the Cloud storage. I recommend you to watch the video at www.getnarrative.com, to get a deeper understanding on how Clip 2 works.

What does it mean, "weatherproof"? Is it waterproof as well?

    HI @Caue Rego,

Welcome to Narrative! No it is not waterproof, meaning that you can't bring it out swimming or submerge it underwater. It is weatherproof, meaning that your Clip should be able to withstand light splashes and rain. Hope I've answered your question! Feel free to reach out if you have further questions and have a wonderful week ahead.

Aw. I use to read that as water resistant. Hopefully clip 3 will be water proof! Also, hey again Ange! :)

@Caue Rego :) Hey again. Yes it is water resistant. You never know! You can add your suggestion on our suggestion board so other users can vote on the idea too. This way, we will be able to gauge the demand.

@Angelyn Its' true, that one can add suggestions on your suggestion board, but no one cares... there have been suggestions in the top ten since the beginning of clip 1, like storing the pic locally with the same advantages as online or people wishing for a windows phone app…

    Hi Oli,

We're working on implementing many features requested from users, including video and Wi-Fi uploading.

We are also working hard to improve everybody's experience with their Clip 2 as well. I hope you understand that it can take time to implement these changes.

We know the suggestion you made is high on the Suggestion Board, and we are aware of this request.

    Have a great day.
